Pennsylvania Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers (Pennsylvania PRI) provides medical professional liability insurance to physicians and healthcare professionals in Pennsylvania.

What We Are

Pennsylvania PRI is a reciprocal insurance company. Our member doctors subscribe to an inter- insurance exchange which issues the insurance policies. The policies are non-assessable, so our members know exactly what the insurance will cost for each year. Because there are no Wall Street investors taking profit off the top, Pennsylvania PRI offers physicians and healthcare professionals the most comprehensive malpractice insurance at the lowest cost possible.

Our member doctors own the company. Every insured joins the exchange by completing a Subscriber’s Agreement. PRI hires a management company, (technically an “Attorney-in-Fact”) called Physicians Reciprocal Managers, Inc. PRM in turn retains program and claim managers to carry out the day-to-day operations of the company.
