UNLIMITED Extended Reporting (Tail) Coverage

Present regulations allow the insured to accumulate credit towards Extended Reporting (Tail) Coverage. Each year that the physician and/or healthcare professional is insured under a Claims-Made policy, the insured accumulates total years in the Claims-Made Program.

Upon termination of a Claims-Made policy, the insured will receive an Extended Reporting (Tail) invoice. This amount must be paid by the insured in order to maintain insurance coverage spanning from the retroactive date to the cancellation date. By accepting the prior retroactive date, Pennsylvania PRI’s waiver of tail premium (free tail) may be a valuable choice.

Free Extended Reporting Coverage (Tail) provisions for death, disability and retirement. Healthcare professionals who have a current Claims-Made policy with another carrier can switch to Pennsylvania PRI without losing their free tail credit.

Unlike other companies, Pennsylvania PRI has no age requirement for free tail due to retirement. In addition, all tail endorsements feature Unlimited Extended Reporting coverage because they have no expiration dates. For more information on free tail requirements, please contact us.
