HISTORY
Administrators for the Professions, Inc. (AFP) has been the attorney-in-fact for Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers (PRI) in New York since PRI began in 1982.
In 1998, Professional Medical Administrators, LLC. (PMA), which is part owned by PRI, was formed to manage medical professional liability insurance programs for physicians and healthcare professionals in the state of Pennsylvania. Over the following years, PMA formed relationships with various companies to make malpractice insurance available to Pennsylvania doctors. AFP came on board with its expertise to manage the claims. Management determined that Pennsylvania doctors deserved their own company, and Pennsylvania Physicians’ Reciprocal Insurers (Pennsylvania PRI) was formed in July 2004. Pennsylvania PRI now offers the solid stability that physicians and healthcare professionals in Pennsylvania are looking for.
